This is a Vector data set. It contains the following vector data types (SDTS terminology):
Planar coordinates are encoded using coordinate pair
Abscissae (x-coordinates) are specified to the nearest 0.000512
Ordinates (y-coordinates) are specified to the nearest 0.000512
Planar coordinates are specified in survey feet
The horizontal datum used is North American Datum of 1983.
The ellipsoid used is Geodetic Reference System 80.
The semi-major axis of the ellipsoid used is 6378137.000000.
The flattening of the ellipsoid used is 1/298.257222.
Sequential unique whole numbers that are automatically generated.
Coordinates defining the features.

MRZ-1 | Areas where available geologic information indicates that little likelihood exists for the presence of significant mineral resources. |
MRZ-2 | Areas underlain by mineral deposits where adequate information indicates that significant mineral deposits are present or where it is judged that a high likelihood exist for their presence. |
MRZ-3 | Areas containing mineral deposits the significance of which cannot be evaluated from available data |
MRZ-4 | Areas where available information is inadequate for assignment to any other category. |

All attributes created during the creation process were verified by displaying the lines in both the database and the spatial coverage, but no formal tests were performed.
The horizontal positional accuracy is not specified in the metadata file that this database is extracted from.
This database includes the Mineral Resource Zones as mapped by the California Division of Geology (CDMG) for the central coast area. The area covering Monterey County was extracted from files provided by CDMG. It is a digital version of the paper maps included in CDMG Special Report 146 and Open-File Report 99-01.
These data are believed to be logically consistent, though no tests were performed.
